Beginner's Drop Spindle Spinning
Saturday, October 29 1:00 - 3:30 p.m. $35 includes materials fee Instructor: Suzanne Kelly Learn to spin on a drop spindle. For a minimum of expense and time, one can learn to spin using this method. This is a nice workshop for teenagers as well as adults. Drop spindles (approx. $18) and wool roving will be available for purchase. | ||
Beginning Spinning on the Wheel Saturday, November 5 10:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. OR Saturday, November 12 10:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. $85 includes materials fee Instructor: Ann Corbey Take the time to learn to spin on the wheel. Students will learn to prepare and card fleece, and will have the opportunity to try several types of wheels. Wheels, hand cards, and fleece will be provided for use during class. | ||

Two-Harness Weaving on a Rigid Heddle/Knitters/Flip Loom Tuesday evenings (7:00 - 9:00 p.m.) November 1, 8, 15 OR Saturdays (1:00 - 4:00 p.m.) November 19 & December 3 $60 (includes rental of a knitters loom) Instructor: Reba Maisel Have a yarn stash with many odds and ends? Use this simple rigid heddle loom to make lovely scarves, placemats, table runners, pillows, etc. Bring some of your favorite yarns to the first class. Additional yarns may be available for purchase. | ||
Beginning Weaving on a 4-Harness Loom Wednesday mornings (10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.) beginning September 21 OR Wednesday evenings (7:00 - 9:30 p.m.) beginning September 21 $175 for 7 weeks (no class September 28) OR Saturdays (9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.) October 14, 29, November 12 (1/2 day) $175 for 3 weeks Instructor: Reba Maisel Learn to use a four harness loom. Looms are portable and will be taken home by the student for the seven weeks. Three projects of varying degrees of difficulty will be completed during the class. Students will be encouraged to weave a final project on one of the floor looms at the shop. Loom rental is included in the tuition, but materials are additional. | ||
Weavers' Study Group Tuesday mornings (10 a.m. - noon) beginning September 13 $70 for 14 weeks New members welcome anytime! An ongoing group who meet weekly to explore various weaving topics. The members collectively decide upon the subjects to be studied and participate in the research of applicable reference materials. The class fee will be used by each student for materials of her/his choice. All levels of expertise are invited. | ||

Knitting Club Thursday evenings (7:00 - 9:00 p.m.) beginning September 8 OR Friday mornings (10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.) beginning September 9 $65 for 13 weeks Instructor: Reba Maisel This is not a class, but an opportunity to get help on specific projects. This is a support group for intermediate and advanced knitters. Some knitting experience is required for this group. Members receive a $5 merchandise credit for each week in attendance. | ||
Knit an Afghan—Block by Block (All levels of expertise!) Monday evenings, beginning September 12 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. $50 for 12 weeks plus yarn (purchase 1 skein per week) Instructor: Reba Maisel Yes, winter really is coming! Why not knit an afghan to keep you warm while learning new techniques? Knit a block a week using Nicky Epstein’s book “Knitting Block by Block” as inspiration. We’ll help you choose colors and appropriate blocks to fit your skills. Finish the afghan during this class and receive a $25 store credit!! |

Get started knitting one of many choices. It only takes one or two evenings to knit and is quite an accent for any clothing. |

Knit a Beaded Neckwarmer Tuesday evenings, September 20 and 27 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. $30 plus yarn Instructor: Lynn Cooke Choose one of two styles of a luxurious neckwarmer while learning a few new techniques such as placing beads using a crochet hook (rather than prestringing them), reading a chart, and making buttonholes.. |

Socks! Socks! Socks! Tuesday evenings, Oct. 4 and Oct. 11 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. $40 Instructor: Mary Philbin Cold weather is coming . . . keep those feet warm! Knit a pair of cozy socks while learning to use double-pointed needles, turn a heel, pick up stitches along the instep, and close the toe with the kitchner stitch. | ||
Beginning Crochet Wednesday evenings, October 5 and 12 (7:00 - 9:00 p.m.) $50 Instructor: Suzanne Kelly Learn the basics of crochet. Crochet has now joined the fiber arts trend with many new contemporary patterns. Suzanne will teach us the simplest forms of crochet that can be used for garments or for trim on knitted items. | ||
Needlefelting a Bird (Beginners & Intermediate) Sunday, November 13 (1:00 - 4:00 p.m.) $35 includes materials Instructor: Trish Miller Beginners and Intermediates will have fun making needlefelted birds. Students will learn how to use a core for the body as well as crafting details. These techniques can be used in many other needle felting projects. | ||
Free Lace Scarf--A Wonderful Gift Item! Sunday, December 4 1:00 - 4:30 p.m. $45 Instructor: Reba Maisel What a fun project! No knitting or weaving required. Make your own piece of lace with ribbons and novelty yarns. Free-Lace is made using a simple technique: Place one water-soluble adhesive Free-Lace sheet on a flat surface. Arrange ribbons and yarns in a free-style manner on the surface of the sheet. Cover the arrangement with the film. Machine stitch in a grid pattern, securing the arrangement in place. Soak the work in water, dissolving the sheets. The lace remains intact. See our samples at the shop. Some sewing machines provided, simple sewing! | ||
